FunLearningJapanese.com ("we", "us") operates a Japanese language learning website. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

Account data: name, email address, and hashed password when you register.
Learning progress: XP, streaks, lesson completion, and study activity stored with your account.
Payment data: processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Not full card numbers.
Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and debugging.

How we use your data

Provide and personalize the learning experience.
Save progress across devices when you are signed in.
Process subscriptions and Tennō session payments.
Send verification emails when email confirmation is enabled.
Improve the site and prevent abuse.

Third parties

We use Stripe for payments, Google Fonts for typography, Google reCAPTCHA for bot protection on sign-in forms, and YouTube embeds for copyright-safe educational videos (Japan Foundation Marugoto, MIT OpenCourseWare, and similar free sources. Embedded only, not rehosted). Each has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you signed in and CSRF protection cookies for form security. These are essential for the site to function. Google reCAPTCHA may set cookies when you sign in or register.

Data retention

Account and progress data are kept while your account is active. You may request deletion by emailing info@funlearningjapanese.com.
